It's amazing how the simple practice of only purchasing things you love modifies what you bring into your home and how much money it saves.
By only purchasing things you love, you'll be able to afford those items, even if they're more expensive than what you normally spend, because you're no longer throwing your money at items that aren’t worthy of bringing home.
Before heading to the checkout stand, take a look at your intended purchases and start editing. Of each item, ask yourself:

Do I love it?
If the answer is no, then put the item back. If you're at the register and your gut tells you not to purchase the item, tell the clerk you changed your mind and don’t want it. There is no shame in that. In fact, it’s empowering. You have taken control of what you're purchasing and bringing into your home. Congratulations!
